ABOUT US

Our story

SOTRAPROCOMM was born from the desire to address the challenges faced by youth, women, and SMEs in Burundi. Founded in Bujumbura, the community-driven company was built around a simple observation: the lack of access to training, financing, innovation, and markets limits the emergence of a dynamic and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Since its inception, SOTRAPROCOMM has been developing pragmatic solutions focused on practical training, strategic support, and the creation of national and international opportunities. The organisation is now evolving as a committed player in transforming the value chain and promoting modern and sustainable agricultural entrepreneurship
.

Our Vision & Mission

Vision: To become a regional catalyst for inclusive, innovative, and sustainable agro-business, where young people and women are drivers of growth and economic transformation.

Mission: To strengthen the capacities of young people, women, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through training, strategic advice, and innovation to build a prosperous and resilient agro-entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Our Approach

Our model ''Train to Transform'' is based on the integration of practical training, strategic support, and project structuring.

Each programme is designed to enable participants to acquire concrete skills that they can immediately apply in their entrepreneurial, agricultural, or digital initiatives. By combining technical know-how and project management expertise, we aim to maximise the socio-economic impact of each participant and their environment.

We support young people, women, and SMEs at all stages of their development, from identifying opportunities to implementing structured projects. Through our local and international partnerships, our approach aims to create sustainable opportunities, strengthen capacities, and transform ambitions into tangible results for communities and the local economy.

Founder’s Address

Dear visitors, Greetings!

At SOTRAPROCOMM, we are convinced that young people and women are the essential driving force behind Burundi's agricultural and agro-industrial transformation. While 90% of the country's businesses are SMEs, many remain vulnerable due to a lack of structured support, which is recognized as crucial for ensuring their sustainability and competitiveness..

SOTRAPROCOMM was born from this reality: a platform committed to enhancing skills, strategically supporting entrepreneurs, and facilitating their access to national opportunities as well as the integrated markets of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This dynamic opens new perspectives for Burundian actors and strengthens their positioning at the regional level.

By 2030, our ambition is clear: to promote inclusion, stimulate innovation, accelerate digital transformation, and strengthen the economic resilience of young people and women involved in agro-industrial value chains. In line with the National Vision of Burundi 2040-2060, which aims for competitive entrepreneurship and modernised agriculture integrated into African markets, SOTRAPROCOMM positions itself as a key player in enhancing innovation, empowering young people and women, and sustainably modernising the agro-industrial sector.

We invite partners, institutions, and entrepreneurs to join forces with us to build an innovative, sustainable, and prosperous agro-industrial sector.

Welcome to the SOTRAPROCOMM community.
